External Structure
Our steel frame is extremely durable and long lived without further input. The steel is 90% recyclable when your office has served a full and productive life.
The aluminium panels have a minimal maintenance requirement and a 25 year paint finish guarantee. This means 25 years without preservatives and other harmful treatments. When you choose to change your office the aluminium is again up to 90% recyclable.
Roof Construction
OSB board is certified to FSC standards and produced in sustainable forests. It is one of the most environmentally friendly wood panel products available making use of virtually all the wood from trees used in production, even the small branches.
EPDM rubber was first in best buy tests supported by the DOE due to its long life compared with bitumen felts.
Our office roof contains 80mm 'Eco Therm PR80' giving a U value of 0.23. This is high
performance rigid urethane insulation that is CFC & HCFC free with zero ozone depletion
potential and a global warming potential of only 3, well below the set target of 5. Within 8
months you will have recouped the energy required to produce this product.
Glazing & Doors
All our glazing units are made from advanced performance low E glass for energy saving. Our high performance windows and doors contain an integral polyamide thermal break meeting the very latest standards set in part L of the building regulations.
Internal Fixtures
The aluminium panels are backed with 50mm polyfoam insulation inside. Low voltage
dichroic halogen lights are installed as a supplement to the large volume of natural daylight entering the office work space through thoughtful design of window and ceiling lines.
Internal Floor
Under floor heating with thermal tile backers provides a highly efficient way to warm the office quickly and effectively. The screed slab acts as a storage heater too adding to the performance. A programmable thermostat gives you total control.

Our View
We have built our offices from materials that may not at first appear to be the most
environmentally friendly choices available. Indeed all our competitors to date are able to point to their wooden constructions and quite rightly claim green credentials for using a natural product. We however have approached the design of our garden office range from a different perspective. We have looked at what our professional customers need to effectively carry out their business and then sought out the best and most up to date solutions. Therefore our offices are made mostly from steel and aluminium to give maximum space with the minimum footprint and a truly cutting edge professional business image. The long, low maintenance life span of our products in
combination with all the modern energy efficient elements of our design give us confidence that we are just as green, if not greener than our wooden competitors. After all, timber production requires a lot of energy and the finished product needs regular annual maintenance to keep its looks and continue to be usable.
A less obvious bonus is the strength and quality of a Garden Haze office means you are unlikely to be calling us back for fault repairs so we do fewer miles with less road pollution! |
